A young woman with two long braids, in a cream sweater and a short denim skirt, stands on the gravel shoulder of an empty prairie highway among golden fields and yellow aspens, holding a wooden sign that reads Great Northern Casino, Grande Prairie.
A two-lane highway curves down into a wide river valley lined with golden aspen and dark spruce, a long truss bridge crossing the river below.
A straight gravel range road runs through a field of yellow canola toward a red barn and a line of aspens under tall summer clouds.
A four-lane highway at night with streaks of car lights and tall street lamps, the glow of a small city on the flat horizon.

Leaving town for 107 Avenue

Great Northern Casino keeps its doors at 10910 107 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta T8V 7R2. In a straight line from each town centre to that door, Sexsmith is 19.3 km, Wembley 20.4 km and Beaverlodge 38.6 km. To the north and north-east, Spirit River is 66.7 km, Fairview 102.7 km and Peace River 151.7 km. East and south, Valleyview comes in at 98.7 km and Grande Cache at 144.6 km. Across the line in British Columbia, Dawson Creek sits 110.1 km away.

Real roads always run longer than these lines, so the guide gives no driving times. Instead, each town in the strip has a link that opens the route. Plan the ride home before setting out, too: the casino names no shuttle, no taxi stand and no nearest bus stop on its pages.

Online in Alberta

Online casinos under Alberta rules

Since July 13, 2026, Alberta has had a regulated online gaming market. AGLC is the regulator, while the Alberta iGaming Corporation, or AiGC, runs the market itself. To take part, an operator needs AGLC registration plus an operating agreement signed with AiGC. 22 registered sites had approval when the market opened. Play Alberta, at playalberta.ca, is the province's own site; AGLC runs it, and revenue goes to the Government of Alberta.

Registered iGaming sites are listed in an AiGC directory at abigaming.ca. Any operator not found there is not regulated in Alberta, while approved operators display the AiGC logo. Registered operators can admit only players physically located inside Alberta, so a reader at home in Dawson Creek or Fort St. John is outside that reach.
